The Host of Erebor

So here is my Dwarf army, in all of it's glory (you can click the images to make them larger). There's about 1,400 points of painted Dwarves there, and does not include Durin or Mardin I have around 50 Dwarves still unpainted, which I think will bring the total around 2,000 points. Now to find a time to use them all...

If you want to see close ups of anything, either leave a comment or look through my blog (anything labelled Army Painting Challenge 2012 (1) or Dwarves).

Durin and Dwarf Command

I've finished some more Dwarves for the army painting challenge, plan on getting through another 16 this month, leaving me with the Dwarves with Two-handed axes to do, and a few with shields or bows. As always, click to make the images larger.

Murin, Drar, (metal) Dwarf Warriors and Khazad Guard

Here is the last of the Khazad Guard (for now), some metal Dwarf Warriors (they previously had greenstuff "capes" on them which is why a large chunk of detail is missing, but we have to work with the tools we are given), with Murin and Drar.

I probably could have done a better job on them, but got a bit lazy this month (I will try and resume normal service next month, but I have lots of exams so can't guarantee this).

600 Point (Almost Complete!)* Dwarf Army Pictures

"Horsemen, hmph! I wish I could muster a legion of Dwarves, fully armed and filthy."

Here's my 600 Point Dwarf Army**, led by Gimli, Balin and a Dwarf Captain:

Army List:
Warband 1:
Gimli, son of Glóin
6 Dwarf Warriors with Shields
5 Khazad Guard
1 Dwarf Warrior with Banner

Warband 2:
Balin, son of Fundin
6 Dwarf Warriors with Shields
6 Khazad Guard

Warband 3:
Flói (Dwarf Captain with Shield)***
12 Dwarf Warriors with Dwarf Bows

*Two Khazad Guard still need painting from Balin's Warband
**The pictures may be a little blurry as they were taken whilst I was standing up, and had nothing to lean/rest on.
***I named my Dwarf Captain Floi before Games Workshop released the current Flói Stonehand, so I'm keeping the name.

Dain Ironfoot, Dwarf Rangers, Captain and Banner Bearer

You may remember this blog post, from about a month ago (then again, you might not). Well I've painted up more Dwarves (click on the images to make them bigger):

Grey Cloaks:
1) Basecoat with a 1:1 mix of Chaos Black:Codex Grey
2) Apply a 2:3 mix of Chaos Black:Codex Grey over the top, leaving the basecoat in the recesses.
3) Layer a 1:2 mix of Chaos Black:Codex Grey over the top, leaving some of the previous mix showing.
